Last week we began our 2nd class at Seton Brackenridge with a whole new group of students. In our opening activity, our instructor, Michele, worked with the students on adjectives. To spark some conversation, she first asked them “What are three important qualities for a manager?” The students answered:
- Strict
- Friendly
- Open
- Real
- Honest
- Trustworthy
- Non-discriminating
- Positive
- Organized
- Professional
Her second question for them was “What are three important qualities for an employee?” The students answered:
- Hardworking
- Cooperative
- Diligent
- Responsible
- Punctual
- Flexible
And, these were all responses in English! Wow!
I’ll leave you with a funny tidbit. When asked what would be an appropriate response to greetings like “How are you?” or “What’s up?,” one student answered “Chillin’ like a villian.” The same student also gave us the advice to “Think before you speak.” Truer words have never been spoken in one of our classes. haha!
Incredible.
