Tagline Survey

2009 April 19

In search of a more powerful tagline, the Communications committee brainstormed alternatives which were presented in a survey to the board.

As of this posting we have ten respondents, mostly board, and the favorites are:

  1. Speaking the Language of Opportunity - 8
  2. The Confidence to Communicate - 7
  3. Opening Lines for Confident Communication - 6
  4. The Language to Do a Better Job - 6

Only one person, so far, did not vote ‘yes’ to any of the options. Beverly points out:

I really like E@W’s current tagline because it’s message is clear and concise and it sits nicely in the middle –focusing on both the clients and the students. But if you’re committed to changing the tagline, here are some thoughts. Ultimately, if you want a sustainable business model that doesn’t rely heavily on grant funds and if you want clients to be profitable from the service E@W provides, perhaps the direction you want to focus on for a new tagline is the client/business, rather than the individual student (above proposed taglines). With that perspective in mind, here are two other tagline options:

Better Business, Better Futures
Lifting Lives and Business through Language

I don’t particularly think mine are great, but maybe my ideas would bring about others. Thanks for the opportunity to voice an opinion.

Thank you, Maile, Jason, and David for your good work,
Beverly

I think Beverly has a strong point. Should businesses be our primary audience now?
